Currently, liquid oxygen is widely used in hospitals, particularly for hyperbaric oxygen therapy. However, liquid oxygen stations involve pressure vessels, liquid oxygen storage tanks, and oxygen, which poses certain risks. Improper use and management of liquid oxygen stations can easily lead to serious accidents, making proper use and safe management of liquid oxygen stations extremely important.
Liquid oxygen stations should be located outdoors in an area with excellent ventilation. Enclosures and surrounding access should facilitate access for tank trucks for refueling. A lightweight sunshade and rainproof roof can be placed over the liquid oxygen storage tanks.
The equipment should be at least 15 meters away from combustible structures and at least 7.5 meters away from fire-resistant structures. Fireworks are strictly prohibited within at least 5 meters of the equipment, and sparks should be avoided in the operating area.
Vented gas or liquids that must be discharged in the event of an accident should be discharged to a designated safe location.
Liquid oxygen stations should be staffed by a designated person. Liquid oxygen tanks are specialized equipment, requiring operators to undergo technical and safety training and obtain a qualification certificate before operating them. Operators must be familiar with the system’s technical performance and operating procedures. Operators must follow these procedures and procedures, first opening the liquid outlet valve, then the oxygen supply valve to the terminal. Open the valves slowly and wear gloves.
