Liquid Oxygen Storage Tank Safety Valve Installation: Before installation, liquid oxygen tank safety valves should be calibrated regularly by professionals based on operating conditions, at least annually. The set pressure of the safety valve should generally be 1.05 to 1.10 times the maximum operating pressure of the vessel and must not exceed the design pressure (except for mobile liquid oxygen storage tanks).

Proper installation of pressure vessel safety valves is crucial to ensuring their effectiveness, yet many organizations often overlook this point in practice. The following issues typically arise when installing a liquid oxygen tank safety valve:

1. The safety valve should be installed vertically and in the vapor phase above the liquid level of the pressure vessel, or connected to a pipeline connected to the vapor phase of the liquid oxygen tank.

2. The cross-sectional area of ​​the through-holes in the connecting pipes and fittings between the pressure vessel and the safety valve must not be smaller than the inlet area of ​​the pressure vessel safety valve.

3. When multiple safety valves are installed on a single connection port on a liquid oxygen storage tank, the inlet area of ​​that connection port should be at least equal to the combined inlet areas of the safety valves on the pressure vessel.

4. Intermediate stop valves should not be installed between the liquid oxygen storage tank and the safety valve. For pressure vessels containing flammable, extremely, highly, or moderately toxic media, or viscous media, a stop valve may be installed between the liquid oxygen storage tank and the safety valve to facilitate replacement and cleaning of the pressure vessel safety valve. The stop valve’s structure and diameter should not interfere with the normal discharge of the pressure vessel safety valve. During normal operation of the liquid oxygen storage tank, the stop valve must be fully open and sealed.
