How to install the safety valve of liquid oxygen storage tank?

The safety valve of liquid oxygen storage tank should be checked regularly by professionals according to the working conditions before installation, at least once a year. The setting pressure of the safety valve should generally be 1.05-1.10 times the maximum working pressure of the container and should not be higher than the design pressure (except for mobile liquid oxygen storage tanks).

Whether the pressure vessel safety valve is installed correctly or not is the key to ensure whether the safety valve can play a safe protection effect, but in actual use, many units often ignore this point. The installation of the safety valve of the liquid oxygen storage tank usually needs to solve the following problems:

Installation Method of Safety Valve for Liquid Oxygen Storage Tank

1. The safety valve shall be installed vertically and shall be installed in the gas phase space above the liquid level of the pressure vessel, or connected to the pipeline connected to the gas phase space of the liquid oxygen storage tank.

2. The cross-sectional area of the connecting pipe and pipe fittings between the pressure vessel and the safety valve shall not be less than the inlet area of the safety valve of the pressure vessel.

3. When several safety valves are installed on a connection port of a liquid oxygen storage tank, the area of the inlet of the connection port shall be at least equal to the sum of the inlet areas of several pressure vessel safety valves.

4. It is not suitable to install an intermediate stop valve between the liquid oxygen storage tank and the safety valve. For pressure vessels containing flammable, extremely, highly, moderately harmful or viscous media, in order to facilitate the replacement and cleaning of the safety valve of the pressure vessel, a globe valve can be installed between the liquid oxygen storage tank and the safety valve. The structure and size of the globe valve should not hinder the normal discharge of the safety valve of the pressure vessel. When the liquid oxygen tank is in normal operation, the stop valve must be fully opened and sealed.
